In about half a year, I rewatched it again. Near the end, Butler asks Scarlett how old she is, and she replies, “28.” I was suddenly struck with shock. After reading the book twice and watching the movie several times, I had always felt I had seen their vibrant, tumultuous, and ever-changing lifetime, but she’s only 28.
